Malicious Flower

A Poem

By Mihaela VasilevaPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Malicious Flower, why do you cry?

Were you too forward,

Or perhaps too shy?

Malicious Flower, you don’t have to speak.

We know perfectly well,

What makes you frail and weak.

Malicious Flower, with your evil glance,

Do you ever stop and wonder

What it would be like to dance?

Malicious Flower, with your roots in place

You can’t go anywhere

You can’t run or chase.

Malicious Flower, with your petals black

We want to move forward

But all you carry us back.

Malicious Flower, with your thorns

We gave you kindness

Now you give us scorn.

How grand it would be to pluck you away.

It’s fine, it’s good, of course it’s okay.

This is part of it all, this gradual decay.

Wait.

Stop.

I need you to stay.
