“A place no human made, a place unmade
By human greed, and to be made again.”
-Wendell Berry, I Go From The Woods
Where is the maker; so patient
With humans, watching the unmaking, and
Clearings, and ruins. The earth is the maker, but not
By design, it simply alters, makes, and
Unmakes over time. Here stood the maker where stands
The unmade, and soon stands the newly
Made maker where clearings once laid.
