Hated or Loved
Say it Plainly Challenge entry
I always worry
if I tell it as it is
that I'll scare the majority
away from me.
I always worry
if I say how I feel
how much I love someone
it will push them
away from me.
I always worry
if I speak the truth
how much I need
attention and adoration,
respect and reverence,
that it will be taken
away from me.
If I admit it
just how much I need
to knowI always worry
if I tell it as it is
that I'll scare the majority
away from me.

I'm not middle of the road—
but hated or loved.

Such human worries that we always overthink. Great poem, Paul!
For what it's worth, I always prefer people to be brutally honest. Loved your poem!
