Make My Future Look Bright

As bright as a star

Make My Future Look Bright

I open my hands to the morning,

sunlight spilling over my fingers,

I want the world to see me,

to feel the shape of my dreams,

to know that I am here,

alive in every colour,

alive in every shadow.

I plant seeds in the quiet earth,

water them with belief,

watch them grow through cracks in stone,

through nights that tried to stay,

through storms that wanted to swallow,

through winds that tried to bend me,

and still they reach for the light.

I want laughter to paint my streets,

and songs to fill my rooms,

I want the air to taste of promise,

and every shadow to bow to light,

I want doors to open,

windows to let in the sun,

and the quiet to carry my voice.

I will not wait for permission,

I will not hide in grey,

I reach, I colour, I create,

my future bright as a flame, untamed,

I step forward with every heartbeat,

I take the fear and turn it to gold,

I let the world feel the weight of my dreams.

I will make the mornings mine,

I will let the nights be gentle,

I will write the story of my days,

and no one can take that from me,

the wind may push, the rain may fall,

but my colours will not fade,

my future will shine, my future will burn.
