Magic

It has a name

By A poem to youPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

If you wondered what magic sounded like

I’d invite you to my roof at midnight

You’d hear the sounds you’re not meant to hear

The sounds of every other life and none

The giving and taking of an hour, a second

A third space between

If you wondered what magic felt like

I’d tell you to come by near dawn

Sit in the small folds of the city

Feel the first glimpse of the sun

While the last sliver of moon winked away

A place just before

If you wondered what magic was made of

I’d let you sit and read my mind

Open the pages and stir the words and visage

Listen to the deepest definitions not visible

Make notes and songs of nothing but night air

A breath out of time
