I’m finding magic in the little things
Feeling the energy of housemates shift after a freshly cleansed home
That I poured love and intention into
The smiles and tears and wonders of children I care for
And the longing, I hold them tight only after a day of missing them
The fresh spring flowers and feelings of hope
Fresh cut grass and sitting in the yard until it’s cold night
Sitting around a fire a friend started with only charcoal, lighter fluid and pinecones
Kissing my lover after missing her all week, and being held by this beauty
Of letting all our worries go and just being close
My housemate giving me a cheat sheet of when and how much the bills will be
After stressing about taking this responsibility as people are leaving
New housemates will come, and set a refreshing tone for this place still filled with love, magic and hope
And add more queerness, creativity and radiance
I’m finding magic in the joy
Of being around my loved ones,
Accepting change and grieving goodbyes, welcoming hellos
Another chapter of transformation
Magic in the knowing that things are falling into place
And the universe always holds a space
When I take care of myself, my community and environment
The rest of my world will be taken care of
