Lumen, Carpe Lumen

Light, Seized Lumen

In the beginning, there was Light.

The light seized man and woman,

caressing their skin…

it held their hands

and hopes and smiles and desires.

They needed the light so badly,

that their lives depended on it.

The Light seized them,

so in true form, and in turn,

every day, they seized the light back.

The light was made to fit inside of them,

and now they carry it wherever they go.

Their eyes, like the stars,

are just a hint, or glimmer of the light beyond the great expanse.

Wow - so this makes me think of the light in eyes - how it sparkles, or dims, or clouds over, or is washed with tears - or goes out in death.
