hush now, it's time to die

Hush now, child, close your eyes

The night is cold, the moon has arise

*

Hush now, child, the night has come

The shadows whisper “you’re not alone”

In the darkness, silence creeks

Monsters keep you from your sleep

*

Softly, softly drift away

into the dark where the monsters play

Don’t you hear the ravens cry?

The lullaby of those who die.

*

Rest, my dear, don’t make a sound

The monsters wait beneath the ground

In the dark, they feed and grow

And in your dreams, they’ll surely show.

*

Sleep, oh, sleep, just let it be

A twisted dream is waiting for thee

The wind will cry, the earth will weep

You’ll never awake from your sleep

*

Rest now, child, rest your soul

The dark will take its heavy toll

The lullaby, it pulls you deep

into a night where none should sleep

*

The cradle rocks but there’s no peace

The shadows dance, they never cease

Sleep, my dear, don’t make a sound

The reaper’s here, he’s circling around

*

Sleep, oh, sleep, just let it be

A twisted dream is waiting for thee

The wind will cry, the earth will weep

You’ll never awake from your sleep

*

Darkness whispers through the air

Cold breath brushing through your hair

A lullaby wrapped in lies

Close your eyes and realize

Underneath the silent skies,

You’ll rest forever while terror flies

In your slumber, hear the call

The lullaby that’ll make you fall

*

Sleep, oh, sleep, just let it be

A twisted dream is waiting for thee

The wind will cry, the earth will weep

You’ll never awake from your sleep

*

Hush now, child, close your eyes

Your time has come, you must die

This is one spooky and terrifying lullaby even though like Dharrsheena I too sang it as reading. Good job.

  • Hahahahahahaha I sang this whole thing. Loved it!
