Low Tide
a political zine

"A rising tide lifts all boats" was coined by President John F. Kennedy and "is mainly used by politicians and economists to convey the idea that if the economy improves, every participant in the economy will be in an improved financial position" (Lisanti, 2022). This zine is a critique of this.
This was the product of a random zine challenge between myself and Muchtar Suryawan. It was my first time making one and I had a lovely time! Please check theirs out below:

Lovely piece!
Very interesting!
Oh I love this so much, and the layers of both pictures and layering of words in a way
What a great, beautifully illustrated zines. Congratulations on Top Story.
I loved this. So creative. I'm off to explore zines!
This is such a powerful zine! I really love the layering of the images and colors! It's also cool how the paper boats were used! They helped give the idea of flimsiness to the "rising tide" concept. And thank you for the resources!!
This is so creative and interesting! Zines feel like the type of thing where you get a quick and powerful message or statement addressing the things that often get overlooked in society (at least in your case). This zine is beautifully done!
The low tides reveal our dead. I especially loved that!
Loved this, RC! You took a bumper sticker expression and gave it a human face. Great reality check.
