Lovers on the Bridge
They met where stone meets river
their voices trembling like oars
hands brushed once then clung
as if drowning was sweeter
than air itself
The river below kept its secrets
swallowing stars in silence
but their eyes lit brighter
than any sky could allow
and their lips found courage
The bridge listened without moving
its stones warm from the sun
its arch remembering footsteps
but these two carved deeper marks
in nothing but air and time
They spoke of never leaving
though the night would split them
the future waited sharp as knives
still their vows stood louder
than all the noise of hours
Love walked them home
its cloak heavy and kind
and though morning pried them apart
they carried that bridge inside
a place no loss could break

To be in a relationship is a great thing and to have found The One is the tops. Good job.
Lovely words and thoughts, and a wonderful situation to be in
