My dear, regarding life, not much is new;
The clock still ticks, and days go idly by.
A little bird told me a thing or two
Has changed for you because of our goodbye.
Your eyes, do they still shine like summer seas?
Your smile, does it still light up all the room?
Your fiancée, how happy she must be
That you are soon to be her perfect groom.
I tried my hardest to forget your face,
But I still see it clearly in my mind;
These tears, I hoped they would not leave a trace,
But they, like ink, have left their mark behind.
This letter I am sure to never send;
How can I write I miss you as a friend?
