Spider webs and cluttered downspouts
Tales that tell of pending doom
Butterflies and I, hang around
Like a crystalis inside my room
Waiting for the day of rebirth
Escaping sheets, homemade cocoons
Life uttering her call to unearth
It's mysteries outside this tomb
The smell of dirt and freedom lingers
Piercing the veil of circumstance
Touching my face with loving fingers
Inviting me to join the dance
A hard exoskeleton protects me
From outside forces meaning harm
Where deep inside no one can see
Its cover keeps me safe and warm
But time has come to unveil my healing
Reveal the new me, time has made
Preparing me to one day receive
A love that makes me unafraid
