"Love: The Only Thing We Give Away and Still Keep"
A lyrical reflection on love, loss, and the gift we never run out of

Recently, I've been thinking about love—not the kind that is sealed with a kiss or bouquet of flowers, but the kind that is quiet and persistent. The kind that we hand out when no one is looking. The kind that continues long after the person has left. When we truly love someone, we offer them something that no one else can receive: a piece of our unguarded soul. An act of vulnerability, not a performance or a transaction. a delicate surrender.
The weird, holy part comes next: We do not lose that love if it is not reciprocated. It remains. Like breath in our lungs, like echoes in a canyon.
It becomes a part of us and is not taken away or wasted. merely... lived. Love persists even when it is returned and then lost due to time, distance, or silence. It doesn't add anything. You made it clear. It is still yours. Both are accurate. Only love can be exchanged without ever becoming poorer. Because it didn't last, you don't lose your ability to love. You don’t run out.

Maybe that’s because love isn’t something we generate. It could be something we channel. Something heavenly. Maybe it comes from God, who is infinite and compassionate. And herein lies the paradox: We are instructed to lock our hearts like safes. But the love we maintain? It’s the love we give away.
Not the kind we store away. Not the kind about which we hesitate to speak. But the kind we release freely, with no guarantee it will land safely.
And yet it does. Always, somehow, it does. Give it once more. Yet again. You won't run out of money. You will not run out. You are the river of love and its keeper. ---
