You gave me butterflies

It rattles my bones,

It makes my hands shake,

It makes me feel,

finally awake.

*

It sprouts flowers

in my lungs.

It grows roots

in my veins,

it feeds butterflies

in my stomach,

and throws dirt

up in my soul.

*

It clouds my judgement,

it closes my eyes,

to the horrors inside.

*

It settles deep inside my soul,

it makes me wish to grow old-

together we grow.

We build this life-

together we come alive.

*

We are as one.

We work together.

As our souls entwine,

twisting and tangling roots

in our mind.

Connected.

*

You.

Just you.

No one else.

Your soul waters mine.

Rivers run south,

down to my feet.

over flowing through my veins.

Making me feel the rush,

the elation that comes with love.

*

Love.

It rattles my bones.

It makes my hands shake.

It makes me feel,

finally awake.
