Love lost

and life shall begin

My hair alights with fear as

every inch of my body prickles and pokes

Static, buzzing freely through my blood

Reflections melt, as the mirror glass holds true

Revealing my damage done

Collapsing eyelids

Hide the scarred pupils underneath

Nose crooked, upturned

burning with each breath

Tired mouth, gasping again

lips cracked and dried

with teeth worn and weathered

The storm of your words

The heat of your actions

The loss of our love

No longer shall my house stand against you

Prepared in some way

We turn the fires inward

As we pack up and leave.

Mirror now multiplying

Our exit
