Love Lost in Verse

A Love that Drifted Away

By layali mumtazPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

In the silence of the twilight's sigh,

Where whispers of the heart reside,

Once we danced beneath a moonlit sky,

Now shadows of dreams we tried to hide.

Your touch, a memory, soft as rain,

Echoes through the corridors of time,

In the corridors where echoes remain,

Lingering, a bittersweet rhyme.

We built castles in the air,

Crafted from hopes and tender care,

Yet winds of fate, unkind and rare,

Scattered them, left the walls bare.

Now, in the quiet of a lonely night,

I trace the stars, where we used to be,

Searching for a glimmer, a fading light,

In the vast expanse of lost memory.

Though love has drifted, far away,

In my heart, it still holds sway,

A tale of passion, night and day,

A love that lived, yet could not stay.
