Love Locks

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

Verse 1

She was tracing poems on the wall

Where lovers carved their rise and fall

He was sketching dreams in charcoal light

By the bridge that glowed in the soft twilight

Pre-Chorus

Two strangers drawn by fate’s design

In a city where the stars align

They spoke in smiles, in quiet grace

And found forever in that place

Chorus

They locked their love on the bridge in Lima

Where the ocean sings and the hearts remember

A silver clasp, a whispered vow

No turning back, just here and now

Among the names and rusted keys

They wrote their own sweet legacy

They locked their love on the bridge in Lima

And let the wind carry their forever

Verse 2

He told her stories of distant lands

She traced the lines upon his hands

They danced where poets used to weep

And kissed where promises run deep

Bridge

Years may pass, and locks may fade

But some love never can be unmade

It lives in stone, in sea, in sky

In every “hello” and soft “goodbye”

Final Chorus

They locked their love on the bridge in Lima

Where the moonlight bends and the hearts remember

A sacred clasp, a silent prayer

Two souls who found each other there

Among the rust and memory’s thread

Their love lives on, though words were said

They locked their love on the bridge in Lima

And let the stars carry their forever

love poems
