Love makes all the difference
Operating whether we know it.
Cupid is a fox spirit threading arrows of gnosis.
A serpent with rainbow scales stiffens to be her bow.
Love is a coyote goddess.
Her tracks never disclose her location
But beckon us, “follow me”
Siren on the shore of all we're meant to be.
She disappears with the moon
And returns as something even more brilliant.
Bones break against pillow soft breasts.
Poison ferments in abundance of tenderness
Her abode is too vast to bear any pillars or flags.
Paradise is sovereign.
Love is a treasure of legend.
A hero can live but never leave with it
But the villain must grieve her in life as in death.
Love is an insatiable huntress.
Pelts of former lives thicken her skin.
Through ages she catches and loses her beloved.
Reality never matches ideal vision and
The white hind darts into the forest again.
Earth is but the rippling reflection of heaven,
But love makes all the difference.
Love is a phoenix.
She bathes in the holy grail
And emerges with the best possible form
Ever to reflect our inmost self.
Love makes all the difference
Between the monster and the truth.
Edges blurred and smoothed, skin poreless,
She moves through the verdure of imagination
More a chimera of dream than a muse.
She weighs the sun with the ponderous moon
And metes out the poet’s dew,
Divine commissioner of justice.
Her aim is eternally true.
