for the uncompromising recognition of oneself

I don't want to bloom.

I'd rather be embraced as I am.

Why must I edit a perfectly good fit?

I don't want to live like heaven,

less do I embody hell.

I want you to meet me right where I am,

then I might consider taking your hand.

I don't want to change my ways.

I'd rather understand why I am

how I pretend that I am right now,

and how it's reflected in the stars.

I want to know myself.

I have come so far and

lost too much to give up heart.

I'd rather aim high, for I will not miss.

God made me a star.
