Love is…

To care without thought of return,

Forgive though it hasn’t been earned,

Be there for someone who’s not present,

To share every good lesson learned.

Be kind, though your charity’s spurned,

Be true, though their back remains turned,

Rejoice when their fortune’s ascendant,

To grieve their misfortune’s return.
