Love Is A Verb

Talk Is Cheap

By Earl W. PearlPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

If love is a feeling it must be a verb

Since love is more something we do

So love without action will only disturb

Those feelings we thought that we knew

All love isn’t equal and some get it wrong

Misplaced and misguided for sure

When love’s misdirected it strings us along

But true love will always endure

Try loving that neighbor who’s heavily flawed

It’s hard to love people we hate

When true love’s within us it’s always of God

It’s not something we can debate

“Agape” refers to perfection in love

A Godly love, proper and prim

Agape perfected is love from above

With origins only in Him

So listen up people, despite what we say

Our actions speak louder than words

If planting love’s seeds in an ungodly way

Those seeds will be eaten by birds

Stream of Consciousness
