"Casey," he called out softly. She looked up, her eyes widening in surprise. "Ronnie? What are you doing here?" He sat down beside her, trying to catch his breath.
"I had to see you. I had to tell you something." Casey closed her sketchbook, giving him her full attention. "What is it?" Ronnie took a deep breath.
"I love you, Casey. I have for a long time. And I couldn't stand being away from you without telling you. I had to take a chance." For a moment, there was silence. Then, Casey reached out and took his hand. "I love you too, Ronnie.
