Love

is not found

this way

through searching

and looking,

scrolling and yessing.

It comes

when you least expect it,

tired from waiting,

and longing and accepting

not finding.

It walks by one day,

stopping for a second look.

You look up and see it,

hold it with your bright eyes.

Maybe, that day,

you feel strong enough, good enough

to approach it,

nay, not strength, it takes more than that,

need, fate, what must be

with or without your action

because perhaps you did walk by,

like so many other times

even though you felt something stirring,

all this hungry hope and deep desire,

but you’re so used to moving on, waving it off,

passing such blessings.

Not this time, it will find you,

give you a second chance

or no chance at all

to be denied, ignored, no longer.

It will have you and hold you

and nothing you can do

will save you or lose you.

What is meant to be will be

and you’ll feel happy to be you.

Life will feel like you felt

it was alway meant to feel.

Every second will be truly lived

because you’re no longer waiting for the time.

You have found the time, the only time you wanted.

Be greedy and selfish

for this time,

like all others, will pass.

Nothing lasts forever,

especially, the thrill and chill

of new love.
