Lost letters

to make long distance a little more bearable

By 𓍢ִ໋. ✿ Ghislaine ✿ 𓍢ִ໋. Published 2 months ago 1 min read

My distant correspondents feel like lost letters

And trying to connect with them

Is the post office where they stay in limbo

-

Do not doubt that I have mistakes in addressing them,

Nor think that these friends would not like to be counted among my acquaintance

I blame these misinteractions on the carriers who cannot evoke emotion

About the time or place where these letters were written.

-

As I attempt sending more,

Writing to them.

It is difficult to know that,

There will always be something that they don’t receive.

No matter how well the postage stamp reflects them

Or how intricately I craft the penmanship

The pigeon will inevitably get lost.

-

This choice was made entirely of one’s accord

To have the life of a Mariner

Spending time with the crew and studying whales and dancing til a red sky morning

Yes, I have also made correspondents here

They receive partial deliveries however,

Barely a third of the weight limit in comparison to my distant fellows

But received

nevertheless.

-

Pray, no one thought to inform me of

how much I may yearn for the homeport during the colder months?

May the pigeon take me instead?
