As I lay alone in a dark cold room
there was a shadow across the wall did it loom
tears and pain alone to hide
all the emotions kept inside
in my ear he whispered and said
in the morning you will wish you were dead
scared, frightened and seemingly done
here is where he will have his fun
eyes closed, only the darkness to see
upon this image his face did appear to me
along with all the torment and shame
here beside me he crept, he came
long lines of crimson running down the wall
his voice he let ring, sing, and call
two by eight and two by two
nothing to see, nothing new
crawling out of the depths he swayed
caught in fear, motionless I laid
crying silently into the night
filled with terror, absolute fright
thinking, praying, wishing he would leave
across my floor a body did he heave
tied down, wrapped in chains
totally helpless, he now had the reins
as the first rays of the sun did shine
he knew he could never have me, my soul is mine
the sun broke over that small distant hill
and in this room time stood still
