Losing you

Feelings

By Vicki LucasPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Float off in the distance

That’s what I’d like to do

Keep on floating, soaring , sailing

Until I have found you

Nothing here is normal

I can barely bear to smile

If only I could talk to you

For just a little while

I wonder what it’s like

I wonder if you hear

I wish I had the answers

To know if you are near

Sometimes my thoughts

They catch the wind, and start to sail away

I have to keep them grounded

Just for one more day

One foot in front the other

One small step at a time

Carrying on is what we do

Until we are healing fine

I know you’d say be stronger

You thought that was what I do

“You’ve always been the strong one”

But not now I’ve lost you

Without you I am broken

Nothing holds me steady

I guess it will come back to me

But for now, I’m just not ready
