On the day you passed over

I will miss your teasing

Telling me "Your fired!"

If I was five minutes late

Your cackling at the reruns of sitcoms

You have watched so many times

My job at your group home won't be as lively

Without your being there

I watched your health decline

You hated wearing oxygen all the time

But you bore it bravely

Along with all the injections and medications

When you cross over

I hope you get to dance the night away

With no tubes to help you breathe

I hope you see your family

Your husband

Your cat

I hope you have a pretty dress and jewelry

Like you enjoyed wearing here

With all the good health you lost in life

sad poetry
