Looking Back

Poetry

By Stranna PearsaPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

When he walks in the room

Everyone else disappears

When he looks in my eyes

I can taste the tears

He holds her close

I try not to see

But every kiss her gives her

Always reminds me

The day I walked away,

I swore it was the last

Seeing him now

Takes me back to the past

I move to the door

I know I must leave

His eyes follow me

But they only deceive

When will this pain exit my broken heart

He told me he loved me

Then tore me apart

Now the door is open

And my eyes on only him

Our eyes meet for a moment,

Goodbye old friend

About the Creator

Stranna Pearsa

A long time ago I discovered the beauty and magic of the written word. The escape it provided when I was trapped was invaluable to me. It is my goal to provide that gift as it had been bestowed upon me so many times by so many others.
