Long lost stare; am I lost? Or is it in your eyes?

In the halls of my

High school

I’d walk down, trudging in black boots

Dark pants and a green heart

And my eyes were drawn to you.

I’d love to know what was going on in your mind,

As each time we pass one another,

Our eyes always met.

You were so beautiful, and even as it seems cliche,

I felt the very atoms of the air

Vibrating

And the air go soft

The moon and the sun between the space of the planet,

merging

To glow between us.

Your gorgeous blonde hair and soft

Eyes,

You were the lady of my heart,

A dream we only had in the context of

A continuous silent conversation,

A moment of shared space that felt as endless

As it suffocated,

And I never knew you,

But I read your story

As you read mine—-

A flame of green and white and yellow,

Grasping to keep its light,

But snuffed out by the ringing of the

School bell.
