LONELY CHILD

How Adoption Ended My Loneliness

By Ravi DPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Lost in the maze of foster homes, I wander

Only to find temporary shelter

Never staying long enough to call it mine

Each new face a fleeting kind of care

Life becomes a carousel of goodbyes

Yesterday's family fades into memory

Counting the days until the next move

Hoping, this time, for a place to belong

In the end, I stand before the judge

Legally bound to strangers who chose me

Discovering, at last, what home truly means
