Loneliness and Sin

Me vs The World

By Sender Jeannestal Published about a year ago 2 min read

Incompetent as my first impression,

Glass heart and crooked teeth,

Broken is my profession,

I must be far from a blessing,

Let these tears of mine be your lesson,

You made a man cry.

You took my pride,

Congratulations,

Now you can use me as your weapon,

As your witness, to the next man in your line,

Making me feel loved then leave broken should be a crime; that’s false advertisement.

Have you ever heard of commitment?

It means I'm here rich or poor,

For the bad and the great,

Don't tell me you forgot to pray...

I bet you don't know my heart,

We lie because we're afraid of consequence,

We fear death because of the same thing,

You can't keep telling lies because eventually you'll die and your truth is running out of patients,

Confess your sin,

I'm already broken,

You can't break me twice,

Tell me why you chose to ruin my life,

Tell me why you didn't treat me right,

Tell me why you didn't sacrifice,

Tell me why you spoke truth but walked lies,

Tell me why I can't smile,

I bet you don't know my heart,

I'll admit I was confused,

I probably wasn't strong enough,

You didn't really explain how much weight I had to carry, you didn't tell me loving you was scary,

Your tattoos are cute,

But you’re missing "approach with caution"

You seem unbothered,

I guess you do this often,

Can't be my fault that I haven't had the slightest clue,

Do you know how it feels to be this used?

I bet you don't know my heart.

I would love to make you proud,

I would love to reach up, touch clouds, and bring them to you,

Have them shower my blues,

I've been hurt.

This will be the last time I'll say let's make this work,

Can't stop crying cause my tears sweet,

I keep my feelings alone,

Because a man who shows feelings is weak,

Isn't that right society?

But I'll leave and keep my peace,

It wasn't your fault I couldn't be,

The man you need,

Make sure you burry me gracefully,

Tell everyone how ruthful you murdered me in your final testimony,

Now I die lonely.

This was upsetting for me to read. My son was murdered in 2015, I thought I would leave a comment because I did read your poem, but it was upsetting to me.
