London Bridges History
A place not to linger late at night

London Bridges History
London Bridge, where heads once swayed,
On spikes they hung, in tar arrayed.
From traitors’ necks, the blood had drained,
Their silent screams forever chained.
Beneath the Tower’s watchful eyes,
The guilty met their swift demise.
The axe fell down, the crowd did cheer,
As death erased their every fear.
The heads were dipped in tar to last,
A warning to the future’s past.
Displayed for all who dared to see,
The price of treachery’s decree.
The river flowed with tales untold,
Of those who dared to break the fold.
Their names erased, their fates entwined,
In history’s cruel, unyielding mind.
The heads on spikes, a ghastly sight,
A symbol of the monarch’s might.
A legacy of fear and pain,
Where justice was a bloodied stain.
London Bridge, the silent keeper,
Of secrets buried, growing deeper.
The heads have gone, but still they speak,
Of times when death was swift and bleak.
