i hold the tattered fragments

of a thousand incomplete maps

fading lines, drawn in blood, not ink

a vermilion spider’s web of coming and goings

all they show me is where i am

i know where i am

i'm lost

this wasn't in the plan

unless that plan

was to be lost

ok…i'm lost

clinging to favoured routes and schedules

a haven found in the order and structure

a tableau of tested time tables

all points forward clearly marked

all they tell me is where i'm going

i know where i'm going

i'm lost

do not update

do not investigate

do not resuscitate?

i’m still lost

i remember all the roads i have travelled

highways to by ways to barely beaten tracks

paths, both the well and the less trodden

sometimes there was no path at all

all they do is remind me

of where i've been

i know where i've been

i'm lost

don't send out a search party

don't file a report

don't drag the lake

i know exactly where i am

i’m lost

This is so cool. The emphasis in the last two lines is the cherry on top. Great poem!
