shakin out the cobwebs
just to find somethin to say
rollin like a celeb
in my beat-up chevrolet
always thought that I would make it
stretchin' that dollar to the max
out play, out smart and out wit
keeps me fillin' in the gaps
scrapin' the bottom has a way
of creating determination
but the way the game is played
doesn't provide appreciation
being weighed, measured and wanting
leaves me cravin' satisfaction
it's hard to claim that i'm a king
when i'm a walking contradiction
so, i’ll get back to mixing phrases
a little word play couldn’t hurt
maneuver my way through the mazes
keeping my head above the dirt

Wonderful, Kelli <3 <3
And don't go swimmin'!
Ah, but the dirt's so much fun to play in! What's the point if you can't get some it in your hair? What's the point of even taking a bath after? It's like the old story of the Methodist (who accepts most forms of baptism) debating with the Baptist (who accepts only immersion) over baptism. M: Does it count if the person just gets wet to their knees? B: Nope! M: How about wet to the waist? B: Nope! M: To the shoulders? B: Nope! M: Over the nose? B: Nope! M: Over the eyes onto the forehead? B: Nope! M: Touching the bangs? B: Nope! M: All the way over the head? B: Yep! M: See, the top of the head is all that matters! Loved the poem, btw!
Good job and sounds like what the people do on 'Survivor' with your line "Outwit, outplay, for some reason can't remember the last word. Been quite a while since I watched the show.
Beautiful
