I am my own boss no rules no arguments

Living Alone

These are the things I can do

because I am living all alone

no one to answer to but me

no noise to break the quiet room

I drink my tea just how I like

watch the morning slow and soft

I choose my pace, my time, my space

and there is bliss inside that calm

No need to hurry, no need to ask

I hold the day just as it comes

these small freedoms, plain and true

are the gifts of living alone

The sun moves slow across the floor

casting light on empty chairs

I listen close to my own breath

and find a peace beyond compare

No plans to make, no voices call

just me and time to spend my way

this quiet life is all I need

and bliss is mine for every day

I hold this stillness in my hands

a space where nothing pulls or breaks

and in this calm, I’m free to be

exactly who I am today

There is nothing like the freedom of not having to answer to anyone, but it comes at a cost - loneliness. We are not meant to be alone (so I am told).
