Lived to Tell the Tail

Yeah, it happened like that

Late the other night,

When I could eat no more

I dressed for bed

Tired to my core

I was going to lie down,

For a night of a writer’s dreams

As I walked down the hall

I suddenly let out a hundred screams

I shimmied, and I shook

As I began to shake out my nightgown

Hopping from foot to foot

My smile had turned to a frown

For inside my skirts

Running round and round

Was the Mississippi Squirrel Revival

And I knew soon, I would fall to the ground

My girls just looked

Asking if I was okay

While both thought I’d gone insane

I just cussed more, as I had nothing to say

Meanwhile, my skirt had a mind of its own

Swaying this way and that

I could feel the feet running around my thighs

Finally, I grabbed the head of that damned cat

Fishing under the folds of the gown

I pulled Clementine from underneath

I may not recover anytime soon

From what she did beneath

The little demon in question
