Sorry. I was thinking of the process of hand-rearing lion cubs and then using them in canned hunting, which is a practice that is still legal in some places.
It is essentially an unfair hunt. Where the lions are not given a fighting chance, not that that would make it any better. They are often put in a fenced ranch or similar space where there is nowhere for them to escape, and it means the hunter can get an easy kill.

This is definitely a poetic and creative way to highlight the inhumane practices that some people call sport or fun. Your poem builds (shape-wise) on the progression and demise of the lion's life.
