Little Laid-Down Lover

A little love here, a little love there, love everywhere

I’m His little laid-down lover,

Upsetting the world by establishing His Kingdom

With obedience and love,

Surrender and wisdom.

Loving the people of the world,

Hating the dark.

Seeking His face, The Ancient of Days,

For love reigns forever.

...

We will never die.

Take our bodies, take our clothes,

But they will never take our souls.

We are one in Him, in Christ.

The fountain of love ever flows.

The end is near in this long dreary night.

We will be reunited as one, forevermore.

...

I’m His little laid-down lover.

Though you may not have seen another,

I assure you there are more of us:

To show us all that we haven’t discovered

To leave the darkness of this world uncovered.

...

We walk in the light

Because we know we need it

We’ll be alright

Because Christ precedes

Every challenge we face,

Every dark and desolate place we visit,

And every lie and disgrace we may chase

Because He saves.

We run this race at His pace.

...

Little laid-down lovers lay down our lives for the Lover who laid His.

And at the end of everything we endure because we exist,

We are brought into brightness and bliss.

...

Tired knights returning from being held at knifepoint in the night.

Children charged with chance in our cherry cheeks.

The praise of the people perfumes perfect Ears.

The King with kings gives kisses, our worship cascades on the King.

...

Holy matrimony like you’ve never seen

With a dinner feast fit for a million kings.

Robed in white light, not a speck of dirt

We whom He foreknew to rule the earth.

Little laid-down lovers, every single one

We look up to adore the Father, Spirit, and Son.
