Little Kid's Hiking Day

We must inculcate nature love in children

She had barely learned walking,

we went on a woodland hiking

on a spring Sunday afternoon,

in our neighborhood canyon.

She walked under the oak shade,

flanked by lovely, yellow mustard,

watching wildflowers, marine fossils,

listening to birds, and cottontail rabbits.

in the sun, under the tunnel,

@Seema

She kept moving ahead, curious,

happy, carefree, and fearless.

She picked fallen lemons,

and watched the setting sun.

Sometimes sitting on father’s shoulder,

sporting yellow encelia in her hair,

an outdoor time to soak-it-all,

a lovely family day on the trails.

All kids must explore nature,

they will feel soul-soothing rapture,

as parents, we must make sure.
