Little girl blue, won’t you come and see
A rainbow grows inside you and me
Cold as red hot ice, so dry it burns your fingertips black
Hot as blue searing fire, so intense it freezes the palms of your hands pale white
Press your fingers to the wall of bullet gray
Stripes and polka dots, send your patterns across the sky
Changes move fast and slow but look how far you have to go
Nothing is forever black and white
Little girl blue, come and see
A rainbow lies inside you and me
Blue, red, purple, indigo
Gold and silver, every color grand as you
Green, orange, yellow, violet
Clouds swirl above silver mist
Colors waving high, flying free
Rainbow wings take you anywhere
Little girl blue, come and see
A rainbow will always be inside you and me
Bad people come and go
The ones who matter stay
But don’t you worry young one
Acception and love are headed your way
Flaunt who you are and color the sky
Shades only you know the meaning of
Little girl blue, come and see
We’ve painted a rainbow, you and me
