Little dragon

A poem fro my son, my little dragon

By Jennisea RedfieldPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

With hair softer than fresh cornsilk,

And a smile bright as a star,

My little dragon

Your heartbeat is my repertoire.

Your scent of lavender and milk,

Dances to my senses like a spell.

My little dragon,

Eyes mottled like the earth

And hair glossy as copper.

You bring a light into my life,

One I never knew was amiss.

A bubble of laughter,

Tiny fists grasping at my long hair.

How did I never know I needed you

There?

You took my heart,

grasped it tight in your little hand.

And I never want it back.

My little dragon,

So kind and special.

I would burn the world for you.

I would slay giants and ghosts.

I would follow the Milky Way

And capture stars.

All for you.

I would weave you a coat made of morning dew,

I would paint the sunset for you.

Smile for me

My son.

My sun,

My jewel,

My light,

My star.

Smile for me

My little,

my beautiful

Little dragon.
