Sand in the Sahara sifts like a sidewinder

Introducing stillness that shares peace with you and I

Light of day illuminates the whiteness of the stars against a bold night

Evaporating water drops leave a molten shell akin to the viper

Nautical coastal winds blow in dropping dew on scorpions’ scales

Concentrated beads of moisture vaporize like dreams lost in a long slumber

Every grain of sand spends itself in the hourglass of the desert’s lost time
