You play around in the city

As I prance around the night

Yours is one of mortar

Mine is one of fright

Living in a jungle of darkness beats trying in the neon lights

You belong there

I thrive here

You want to be seen

I vanish from sight

You're just another face in the crowd

As I remain faceless-

Facing the mysteries I encounter under a starry night

The lights in your city flicker

The stars above my jungle twinkle in the shape of a Jaguar without rubber wheels that roll on gravel

I rub my whiskers against a rubber tree

Leaving my scent for a frisky feline to follow me into nocturnal oblivion

And, dance along the silvery silhouetted river where shadows skip on cobblestones

And fire flies buzz and pop like embers from a camp fire

You drink out of glasses at bars

We lap up sips of silver from moonlit lakes, lounging on the shore, swirling in the sand, and purring...

You listen to music

We hunt to the beat of the night

Under a screechy owl fight

You belong there

We thrive here
