I would never take the liberty
of telling you what to do
but
if you ask me for advice
these things I might say to you:
Don't count the hours
Do pick the flowers
Look for foxes
Discard the boxes
Follow a bee
Climb a tree
Break some rules
Don't suffer fools
Live by your word
Make yourself heard
Slay your own dragons
Pull your own wagons
Always be kind
Never rewind
The past is done
Spend time in the sun
*****************
I was wrong, of course,
I say with remorse,
but only for
the little white lie
I tried to imply.
I would, in fact,
take the liberty,
every waking moment,
to free you from
captivity.
