Listen, Learn, Teach
Everyone knows something you don’t

Go not through life
Giving in to stress or strife
Teach the teachers to teach
Coach the coaches to coach
Fly with the fliers
Soar ever higher
Laugh with the laughers
… Comfort the criers …
Breach the ageist obstacle of years
Battle past those long standing fears
Laugh as the toddler toddles
Despite your aching knees and wobbles
Even if leaning on a cane
Chalk up an idea in your own vein
The chalkboard of the mind
Is never blank .. not at any time
Listen to that whimsical child
Soar in his imagination wild
Even a babe can teach you
Take time, pay attention to a few
Reach out a hand
Take a heartfelt stand
Your knowledge, your talent
With them be gallant
Our legacy is that which we pass
To generations new or last
…..
A small child shall lead them
In the steps of elder’s wisdom
Whilst taking occasional side trails
In dawn’s peaceful interim

I have never met a single person - no matter their age, specialty, or even mental capacity - who didn’t know something I did not. We ALL have things to teach. We ALL have much to learn.
The chalkboard of the mind is never blank.
Thanks for reading.

Very wise words. Well said, Andrew.
Yes, it's so important to keep an open mind because we never know what we would learn from who. Loved your poem!
