Liquid Silk
When motherhood pauses long enough to let me breathe

The bath fills with the sound of rain
on a summer’s afternoon.
Warm water gently kissed with a touch of rose.
Alone in a room with only my thoughts,
I slip into liquid silk up to my chin.
Wisps of steam drift like a soft pillow above my head.
The flame of a scented candle softly flickers in the background.
Aches and pains start to soothe.
Headache melts away.
Take a deep breath and rise —
it’s time to continue the day.

What an exquisite bath of verses, with every word washing my soul and reaching God. I too will let the rain flood the silk of my heart’s bath, so I may see with clear and joyful eyes, like your beautiful ones.
Your poem beautifully captures the fleeting moments of self-care that motherhood often interrupts, making readers pause and feel the relief of stillness.
This poem is beautiful, calming, relaxing. It shows how positive and invigorating that small yet meaningful moment alone, in a silk bath was. It's good to have enough time to breathe. I guess the little one is allowing more little 'me moments' now. :) This was a really nice poem, and I love to follow your evolution as your baby grows up. Well done, Sandy!
From the beginning to the end, this poem is captivating. A bathtub filled with silk is unique and intriguing. The poem follows beautifully.
This sounds so soothing and relaxing. Take advantage of this whenever you can. Motherhood takes a lot our of a person. This makes me want to go relax in a warm bath right now.
This perfectly encapsulates that soothing, restful pause before returning to the fray. Lovely!
Beautiful! Here’s one of many about my bath: https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/helichrysum-and-a-cello%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">

Sounds wonderful!💖💖
Ahh, those long hot baths! I know this feeling exactly (it used to be my only escape to be alone when we were living with our crew, often 5-8 people in one house). Just reading this made me feel like I was melting inside. I'm glad you got yourself some sweet time.
Nothing like a luxurious hot bath and your lovely lyricism took me right there.
I want to know what bath soap you are using to take to you to an escape silky oasis.
Lovely! Description spot on and you made feel so relaxed!
This was soooo blissful! Loved it!
Ohhh, this read like a dream! It felt like a slow-mo scene of pure bliss!
