I ask if you want some tea,
You smile and say you should get going.
"Of course, of course," yet somehow,
the kettle is put on anyways.
I paw through my fancy blends,
And offer you my favorite.
You notice I need to order more,
And we linger over tea.

What Paul said, I thought it was not wanting time to end with our favorite people. Well Done!!
I love the gentle understated eloquence to this! captures that often downplayed but incredible feeling of not wanting time with our favourite people to stop! plus, what Rachel said!
Tea is the perfect accompaniment to friendship.
Great setting! Loved your poem!
