One hug would be so

freeing, but I am trapped in

this cage of longing

Limerence is defined as a state of infatuation. Sometimes conceptualized as a one sided relationship, similar to unrequited love but more obsessive and in some ways more fanciful.

It often includes strong desire for reciprocated feelings or a relationship but isn’t necessarily characterized by any sexual fixation. More so, limerence is built around a “what if ?” and by the comforting fantasies that respond t0 such pondering.

People in a state of limerence will often put the target of their affection (the limerent object) on a pedestal. They’ll imagine the LO as an almost worshipful ideal. This elevation can be seen as reductive, even dehumanizing, in and of itself.

In most cases, states of limerence fade with time and distance, but they can be maintained for years under certain psychological conditions or circumstances.

Being in a state of limerence is like having an intense, irrational crush. People in limerence will often note intrusive thoughts and a sad sense of longing.

Wow, that limerence really hits the spot! It's like being stuck in a daydream, wishing for that one hug to break free from the endless “what ifs.” So relatable!

  • Your image drew me to this, reminding me of some "living sculptures" that "live on European beaches. Thank you for the words and the explanation. This was my piece as it's easier to share than describe https://shopping-feedback.today/futurism/mechanical-animals%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
