Wash and cut a lime, split it even into halves
Is there a version of me on another timeline wondering what I am doing now?
store one, slice the other again, squeeze the quarters into the glass
Packing boxes, planning a move, processing the opposite of this outcome,
a packet of sweetener over the pinched rinds in the bottom
is she out there somewhere trying to make the best of the situation,
pour the water to an inch from the top, stir
looking for the bright side, saying her goodbyes?
a splash of grenadine, stir again, sip.
Would she have gotten lemons?

If You Love Me, You'll Do It
I met Jason when I was five years old. I could say that I loved him from the moment I saw him. He was so handsome to me and I felt in awe by his presence. When they introduced him as the new kid in school, I wanted to be his friend right away. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember his smile and how he didn't seem shy. He appeared confident and ready to learn. I waved at him and said "hello," before anyone else could even say a word. He sat next to me, and I asked him if he wanted to be friends. He looked so happy as he said, "Yes!"

Not big on either, but my wife keeps both on hand (lime & lemon juice, omit the sweetener) & goes back & forth all day as to which she puts in her water. And yeah, I often ponder what other me's might be doing right now in the multi-verse, too.
