Oh! My!

Darling Clementine

Six seven

It’s half past eleven

Hear the tolling of the bell

Now, sit, I have a story to tell

🕦

Alone in my home

With the urge to roam

I paced across my floor

I knew I needed to go to the store

🏪

So, I laid out my clothes

And painted my toes

Then jumped into the shower

To make myself smell like a flower

🚿

With soap in my eyes

I fantasize

About being in heaven

Six seven

🧼

I’m singing a new tune

About loving you under the moon

When I feel a touch on my shin

Making me turn in a crazy spin

🎶

Seeing nothing nigh

I breathe a huge sigh

And continue on with the scrub

As I resume with a new song, rub-a-dub-dub

🫧

Rinsing my salt and pepper hair

Belting out Beyoncé with such flair

Six seven

Oh, how I wish I had a raven

🐦‍⬛

I’m imagining how cool that would be

Suddenly, I feel eyes on me

Freaking, I shout out

Looking around, there is no one about

👀

Sensing I’m not alone

I wished I’d brought my phone

Nervously, I continue to lather

My singing turned to a blather

📵

Now it’s 12:11

Six seven

Keyed up

Shook up

🔑

With one hand on the wall

Trying to prevent a fall

I try to rinse the soap

Feeling like a dope

🥴

With a clean face

I tentatively start singing about that bass

As I finish up with my bath

Suddenly, the curtain is in the water’s path

🛁

Good God help me, please

I say as I fall to my knees

Turning to look

I expect to see a spook

🧛

Oh, dear

I was full of fear

I shivered

I quivered

😨

I squealed right out loud

I was completely cowed

As I turned around to see

What spirit wouldn’t let me be

👻

Lo, and behold

Sitting ever so bold

Sat a furry little imp

Making me feel like a huge wimp

😈

With her tiny black paws

She reached out with her claws

To give me another tap

Giving me inspiration for this rap

🐾

For with her big green eyes

She does mesmerize

My little tag-along

She’s tiny, but strong

😵‍💫

Six seven

Busting out even

This is all I have to share

Now, I’m going out for some air

A/N: Since Clementine is my youngest daughter's cat, and my youngest thinks it's funny to say six seven, I have interspersed it throughout this poem.

Ha ha ha. Cool rap MC. This 6.7 thing is so silly. Love the new hobby. Busting out a rhyme.

This was both spooky and funny, Sharon! Loved six seven in this rap, certainly gave it a good rhythm and pace.

Since it's hot off the presses, I couldn't resist! A brilliantly fun and frivolous poem, and I especially love the playful rhyme-scheme. Clementine is beautiful, but I do see how that stare could freak anyone out! Just to say as well, many many thanks for all the likes and reads. I do appreciate it! And I've been meaning t have a look at your latest ever since I've been back. Glad I did!
